2nd Year Photo Students at RIT brave the world
of strobe lighting and concept ideation!
Quick out take to finish up a pack of instant following the Scheimpflüg demo Wednesday. Lauren was shot at 2 seconds, f5.6 with an 180mm lens on the Sinar P2 4x5 view camera. Using Scheipmflüg correction, we were able to increase the depth of field across the figure.

Images from the Scheimpflüg Demo in class this week. Both images were captured at f5.6, however the use of a tilted lens planes allowed for more precise control of the depth of field. The first is without any corrections, captured on a rigid lens and focal plane, the second is with corrections.

Technical information:  Images were shot on Fuji FP-100c45 (rated at ISO80), with a Sinar P2 camera and 180mm lens, lit using a Broncolor Scoro, with Primo and Pulso heads, at copy lighting (45º down, perpendicular to the camera position left and right) and standard reflectors.

Our first in-class demo using the Sinar and Cambo 4x5 camera + polaroids Fuji Instants.

In this assignment the Elements of Ad students set up illustrative still lifes at home shooting with ambient/natural light and were required to take the items they shot into the studio and recreate the exact same still life using only studio light.
